HMS Derwent, built by Hawthorn, Leslie & Co., Ltd., Newcastle in 1903 and owned at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British destroyer of 555 tons. On May 2nd, 1917, HMS Derwent was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-26 (Matthias Graf von Schmettow), off Le Havre. 58 persons were killed.
