BORN 1882. SON OF ROBERT STONEHOUSE AND ELIZABETH FLINT OF 9 , MARLBOROUGH AVENUE, HULL & ‘WESTMONT’, NEWLAND PARK, HULL. EDUCATED AT HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. COMMISSIONED AS SECOND LIEUTENANT, IN THE 11TH LOYAL NORTH LANCASHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION AT ARRAS, ON 28/04/1917, AGED 34.

HE DIVIDED £889 IN HIS WILL BETWEEN HIS FATHER, A COAL MERCHANT, HIS SISTER LOUISA AND HIS BROTHER DOUGLAS, A SOLICITOR. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAIL MAIL 21/12/1917.

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE COTTINGHAM, METHODIST CHURCH, WW1 PLAQUE. HIS NAME IS ALSO RECORDED ON THE HULL METHODIST CHURCH ROLL OF HONOUR, PRINCES AVENUE AND THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL WW1 MEMORIAL.
