BORN HULL 25/10/1894. SON OF REUBAN STUBBINS & MARY ANN CRACROFT, AT 29, BRIGHTON STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS). ONE OF TEN CHILDREN. SON OF A FISHERMAN. THE FAMILY LIVED AT 2 BRUNSWICK TERRACE, SCULCOATES (1901 CENSUS) AND 105 SOMERSET STREET, (1911 CENSUS).

BEFORE JOINING UP, HE WORKED AT J&A SMITHS. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED IN FRANCE WITH THE ROYAL MARINES, IST ROYAL NAVAL DIVISION. HE WAS WOUNDED IN THE RIGHT THIGH, IN FEBRUARY 1917. RETURNED TO SERVICE. ACCIDENTALLY KILLED IN ACTION, ON 16/03/1918, AGED 23.
HIS NAME WAS LISTED IN THE ST BARNABAS CHURCH, ROLL OF HONOUR.
BURIED IN FRANCE. HE WAS PICTURED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 27/02/1917. *

HIS FATHER SERVED ON MINESWEEPERS DURING THE WAR.
