Born Coldstream, Berwick, 1873. Son of Mrs Ellen Dawson (1844-1916), of 13, Williams Place, St James Street, Hull (1911 Census) and 3, Hope Terrace, Walker Street, Hull (war pension address).
A General Labourer. He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1st West Yorkshire Regiment. Killed in action, on 23/09/1915, aged 42. Buried in Belgium.
His army effects were left to his mother, Ellen Dawson and sister, Mary Ann Cook.
