Taylor, James Henry

Born Burton Constable, 1885. on of Joseph Taylor (1836-1884) and Amathea Smith Bell (1847-1956)

A Tram Conductor in Hull. He married Ada Lillian Cooper (1886–1915) at Hull, in 1911. She died in 1915. He then lived with his older, married sister, Rebecca Simpson, at 20 Princes Road, Hull (army records address).

He enlisted in Hull, on 24th July 1916. Trained at Withernsea. Posted to France, on 4th December 1916. Served with the 13th East Yorkshire Regiment (Hull Pals). Wounded at Oppy Wood. Died of wounds, on 06/05/1917, aged 32. he is buried North of Arras.

His army effects were left to his sister, Rebecca Simpson, at 20, Princes Road, Hull (War Pension address). They included his wife’s wedding ring.
