Tennison, Charles Edward

Born Aldbrough, East Yorkshire, 1892. Son of William and Sarah Hannah Tennison. He had four brothers and a sister. His father was a farm labourer.

He enlisted at Hull. Served as Gunner, 755543, in the Royal Field Artillery, “A” Bty. 251st Brigade. Killed in action, on 27/05/1918, aged 26. He is buried in France.

His army effects were left to his widow, Minnie V. Knaggs, who he married at Skirlaugh, in 1915. She lived at 3 Mill Row, Aldbrough, East Yorkshire, UK (Pension Ledger Address).

His brother,  Private, George Henry Tennsion, 15436, 1st Royal Fusiliers, was wounded in the war. His other brother, Driver, William Tennison, T4/057567, Army Service Corps, enlisted at Beverley and died on 29/10/1918, aged 21.

The brothers are commemorated on Aldbrough WW1 Memorial.
