BORN HULL 17/11/1894. ELDEST SON OF THOMAS WILLIAM THOMPSON (1865-1943) & FLORENCE HEATH CURRY (1871-1956), AT 29 SARAH ANN’S TERRACE, ST PAULS STREET, HULL.SON OF A BLUNDELL’S PAINT FOREMAN. ONE OF EIGHT CHILDREN, INCLUDING SIX SISTERS. HE WORKED AS A WATER BOTTLER (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 2ND EAST YORKSHIRE BATTALION. KILLED IN ACTION AT LOOS, ON 04/10/1915, AGED 19. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, FLORENCE.
HIS ADDRESS AND DEATH WERE REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 23RD OCTOBER 1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
BY 1916, 35 MEN FROM 31 HOUSES IN SARAH ANN’S TERRACE, HAD VOLUNTEERED TO SERVE DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR.
