BORN EASINGWOLD WORKHOUSE, YORKSHIRE, 1874. SON OF STEPHEN R & ELIZABETH E. THOMPSON. A FORMER ARTILLERY MAN. HE JOINED THE ARMY AGED 17. SERVED IN SOUTH AFRICA.

MARRIED AT HULL. IM 1904. HUSBAND OF MINNIE BOSCOWITCH THOMPSON (1870-1962) & SEVEN CHILDREN, OF  6, FLEET STREET, STEPNEY LANE, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND 25, GILLETT STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). A GAS WORKS LABOURER IN CIVILIAN LIFE. THEIR SON, SAMSON DIED ON 21ST JULY 1916, AGED 9.

ENLISTED HULL. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 2/7/1915. SERVED AS A DRIVER IN THE 28TH DIVISIONAL COLUMN, ROYAL FIELD ARTILERY. DIED OF CONCUSSION FROM A MILITARY ACCIDENT, AT SALONIKA, GREECE, NO;1 STATIONARY HOSPITAL, ON 13/01/1916, AGED 29.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DIALY MAIL ON  27/1/1916.
