BORN HULL 1893. SON OF JOHN WILLIAM & THE LATE FRANCIS TINDALL. PRESUMED DROWNED. HULL MERCHANT NAVY ROH.
On April 2nd, 1917, the British steel cargo ship BENLARIG, left Fremantle for Colombo with a cargo of wheat in bags and went missing. She was not heard of ever since. 37 CREW LOST. Benlarig was a Bine Line cargo requisitioned by the Admiralty as a collier, aka Collier No.617.
