BOTH HIS PARENTS WERE BORN IN IRELAND. HE WAS ONE OF 12 CHILDREN (FOUR BROTHERS AND SEVEN SISTERS).
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. JOINED THE 7TH EYR. KILLED IN ACTION, AT YPRES, ON 29/10/1915, AGED 33.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 20/11/1915. HIS PARENTS ADDRESS IS GIVEN AS 21, STAFFORD STREET, HULL. HE WAS ONE OF THREE SONS SERVING. HIS COMMANDING OFFICER’S LETTER TO HIS PARENTS, WAS PUBLISHED IN THE NEWSPAPER, STATING THAT HE WAS “HARDWORKING AND CHEERFUL AND ALWAYS KEPT UP SPIRITS WITH A SONG.”
