BORN HULL 1898.  SON OF CHARLES TUTON (1854-1937) & CLARA ANNIE SOULSBY (1860-1946), OF 51 , MADELEY STREET, HULL (1918 ABSENT VOTERS). HE HAD FIVE BROTHERS  AND TWO SISTERS. HIS BROTHERS, WALTER, FRED & HARRY LIVED AT SAME ADDRESS. HE WORKED AS A COAL PORTER.

ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 12TH DECEMEBER 1915. CALLED UP FOR SERVICE, ON 10TH MAY 1916. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 4TH AUGUST 1916. SERVD WITHTHE DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/04/1918, AGED 20. BURIED IN BELGIUM. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, CHARLES.

HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, HAROLD PERCY TUTON (1880-1915) 8942, 2ND EYR, WAS KILLED AT YPRES ON 05/05/1915, AGED 35.
