Born Hull 1885. Son of John Twidale (!850-1928) and Elizabeth Clark Twidale (1848- )of 53, Wincolmlee, Hull (war Pension address). He had two brothers and three sister. Unmarried he worked as a Joiner, for the Hull Oil Company, Stoneferry, Hull.
Enlisted 22 Sept 1914. Posted to France on 18 Sept 1915. Served as a Sapper, with the Royal Engineers, 530th Durham Reserves, Field Company. Contracted Syphilis in Sheffield. Discharged on 24 Nov 1917. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: 280286). Died of Syphilis, on 25/04/1926 aged 40.
His elder brother, Private, John William Twidale (1879-1929), 164754, Labour Corps lso served in the war.
