BORN HULL 1899. SECOND SON OF ARTHUR & ALICE TWIDLE, OF 8 LOUISA’S TERRACE, FINSBURY STREET, HULL, AND THIS CWGC ADDRESS. SON OF A TANNER’S LABOURER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS ACTING LANCE CORPORAL, 201418, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. HE DIED AS A PRISONER OF WAR, IN GERMANY, ON 27/11/1918, AGED 18. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, ARTHUR. HIS ONLY OTHER SIBLING AND ELDER BROTHER, PRIVATE, ARTHUR EDMUND TWIDLE, ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 19/10/1918, AGED 21. THEIR PARENTS HAD LOST BOTH SONS WITHIN THE LAST MONTH OF THE WAR ENDING.
