BORN GOOLE 1898. SECOND SON OF ALFRED WADSWORTH (1870-1958) & JOSEPHINE APPLEYARD (1870-1950), OF 13 BERESFORD AVENUE, BEVERLEY ROAD, HULL AND 94 CRANBROOK AVENUE, COTTINGHAM ROAD, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HIS FATHER WAS A STEAM SHIP OWNER AND MANAGER. SECOND OF FOUR SONS.

HE SERVED AS AN AIR MECHANIC, IN THE ROYAL FLYING CORPS, 63RD SQUADRON. HE DIED AT THE GENERAL HOSPITAL, BASRA, ON 22/08/1917, AGED 19. COMMEMORATED ON THE BASRA MEMORIAL, IRAQ.
HIS NAME IS ALSO RECORDED ON THE HULL TECHNICAL COLLEGE MEMORIAL, PARK STREET, HULL. ALSO AT ST JOHNS CHURCH, NEWLAND, CLOUGH ROAD, HULL
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL (HDM 28/08/1917, 31/08/1917 & 20/09/1917, & HDM 19/09/1917).
HIS ELDER BROTHER, PRIVATE, ERIC APPLEYARD WADSWORTH, SERVED IN THE ARMY CYCLING CORPS DURING THE WAR. THEIR YOUNGEST BROTHER, HERBERT EDWARD WADSWORTH SERVED IN THE NAVY DURING WW2.
