BORN HULL 1894. SON OF ALFRED BERNARD WALSH (1868-1936) & ELIZABETH HILL (1864-1948), OF 75, LOWGATE, HULL & 47, PARK STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD ONE BROTHER AND THREE SISTERS. A PRINTER’S APPRENTICE. HE WORKED WITH HIS FATHER IN A LETTER PRESS.

SERVED AS ACTING BOMBARDIER, IN THE 178TH BRIGADE, ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY. WOUNDED IN THE HEAD BY GUNSHOT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 04/05/1917, AGED 23. BURIED PERONNE COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, SOMME, FRANCE.

UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFCTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ELIZABETH.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 03/05/1917.
