BORN MADRAS, INDIA 1882. SON OF ISSAC EVAN WALTERS AND CAROLINE MARY DOWNING. ONE OF FOUR SONS.

HE MARRIED ON 26/05/1901. HIS WIFE MARY ELLEN (TAYLOR) LIVED AT 126 , ADELAIDE STREET, HULL. HE SERVED ON THE STEAM SHIP, “ZARA”. DROWNED AT SEA ON THE 13TH APRIL 1917, AGED 35.

HIS DEATH IS RECORDED ON THE HULL MERCHANT NAVY ROLL OF HONOUR. HE LEFT £202 IN HIS WILL TO HIS WIDOW AT THIS PROBATE ADDRESS.

SS Zara, built by Wm. Hamilton & Co., Port Glasgow in 1897 and owned at the time of her loss by Ellerman’s Wilson Line, Ltd., Hull, was a British steamer of 1.331 tons.
