BORN HULL 22/07/1895.  BAPTISED AT ST CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH, HULL, ON 3RD AUGUST 1895.

SECOND SON OF MARTHA AMELIA WALTON (1871-1942) AND DR, FRANCIS FIELDER WALTON (1861-1925), OF 19, CHARLOTTE STREET, HULL (HULL DAILY MAIL ADDRESS, (03/09/1918) AND LATER 5, SEA VIEW TERRACE, HORNSEA (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). SON OF A SURGEON. HE HAD ONE BROTHER AND THREE SISTERS. EDUCATED AT AMPLEFORTH COLLEGE, A PRIVATE CATHOLIC SCHOOL.

PRIOR TO JOINING THE ARMY, HE WORKED FOR MESSRS, ROSE, DOWNS AND THOMPSONS, HULL

HE ENLISTED EARLY IN THE WAR IN HULL. FORMERLY, DM/2/196054, ROYAL ARMY SERVICE CORPS, MOTOR TRANSPORT.

HE SAW MUCH ACTION, IN GERMAN EAST AFRICA, WHERE HE CONTRACTED MALARIA FEVER. HE WENT TO FRANCE IN JUNE 1918. SERVED WITH THE 23RD ROYAL FUSILIERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 24/08/1918, AGED 23.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 03/09/1918. *

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL AT ST CHARLES BORROMEO CHURCH, JARRATT STREET, HULL.
