BORN HULL 1889. YOUNGEST SON OF GEORGE ROSENDALE WATSON & MRS MARY ELIZABETH WATSON, OF BRANTINGHAM. HIS FAMILY RAN A MACHINE THRESHING BUSINESS IN BRANTINGHAM WHICH HE WORKED FOR. ENLISTED HULL. FORMERLEY, PRIVATE, 3945 4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 10TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. WENT TO FRANCE IN JULY 1916. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON THE 13TH NOVEMBER 1916, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE BRANTINGHAM WW1 BRONZE MEMORIAL TABLET WHICH RECORDS 12 MEN LOST FROM THE VILLAGE.
