BORN MYTON, HULL, 1862. SON OF ALFRED WEBSTER (1831-1910) & MARY ANN BROWN (1840-1905). HE HAD ONE BROTHER, GEORGE (1860-1941).

HE MARRIED AT SHEFFIELD, IN 1903, AGED 41. HIS WIFE, ALICE ELLIS (1863-1931), LIVED AT 106 ABBEY VIEW ROAD, WOODSEATS, SHEFFIELD. THEY HAD NO CHILDREN.

A FORMER SOLDIER, INSURANCE COLLECTOR AND JOINER. HE ENLISTED IN SHEFFIELD ON 10/09/1914, AGED 52. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 27/05/1915. SERVED AS COMPANY SERGEANT MAJOR, 9TH YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 01/07/1916, AGED 54. COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING ON THE SOMME.

HE LEFT £634 IN HIS WILL TO HIS WIDOW, ALICE AT THIS PROBATE ADDRESS.
