WIFE EMILY BILLANY FORMERLY WELBOURN AND DAUGHTER MARY LIVED AT 29 ECCLES STREET, COTTINGHAM AND THIS CWGC ADDRESS. A SOLICITOR’S CLERK & RAILWAY LEDGERMAN. ENLISTED HULL 10/12/1915.SERVED IN FRANCE AS QUAY FOREMAN, CLAIS DOCKS FROM 5/07/1917 TO 7/10/1917. INVALIDED BACK TO ENGLAND WITH INFLUENZA AND BREATHING PROBLEMS. DIED FROM HEART FAILURE, AND INFECTION AT COLCHESTER MILITARY HOSPITAL, AGED 31. BURIED HULL NORTHERN CEMETERY. HE HAD LOST THE RANK OF SERGEANT WHEN HE RETURNED TO ENGLAND AND WAS HIS WIDOW WAS AWARDED A LOWER RATE OF WAR PENSION.
