BORN HULL 1895. THIRD SON OF WILLIAM WEYMESS (1856-1917) & FANNY MARIA LONG (1859-1934), of 78 ENGLISH STREET, HULL. SON OF A SCOTTISH, SEA CAPTAIN, FROM DUNDEE. HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND TWO SISTERS. EDUCATED AT TRINITY HOUSE NAVIGATIONAL SCHOOL. EMPLOYED AS A FRUIT BROKER’S CLERK.

HE ENLISTED IN THE ARMY ON 08/09/1914. SERVED WITH THE 2ND YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION AT ARRAS ON 09/04/1917, AGED 21.

HIS FATHER WILLIAM DIED AT SEA ON 18/12/1917 AND IS BURIED IN CALAIS. HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, GEORGE WEYMESS, 11/429, SERVED WITH THE HULL PALS AND DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 04/08/1916.
