BORN HULL 05/01/1889 SON OF TOM WHEAL (1867-1950) AND ELIZA OLLETT (1870-1946). ONE OF NINE CHILDREN, FIVE OF WHICH DIED IN INFANCY. ELDEST BROTHER, OF TOM, SAM AND JOHN. EMPLOYED AS AN IRON AND STEEL DRESSER. HE MARRIED ELIZA ROBINSON (1893-1969), IN HULL, ON CHRISTMAS DAY 1911. WIFE ELIZA & 4 CHILDREN LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS. HE SERVED IN THE ROYAL NAVY RESERVE DURING THE WAR. ACCIDENTALLY KILLED BY SHELL EXPLOSION AT CHURCH STREET. THE SHELL WAS USED BY HIS DAUGHTER AS A DOLLY WRAPPED UP.
