Born Hollym, near Withernsea, Yorkshire, 1896. Son of William Henry White and Mary Ellen White, of Hollym, Hull. He had a brother, Edward and sister, Florence. Also numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins, connected with the Withernsea and Hull area.

Employed as a farm Labourer. Described as 5 foot, 4.5 inches tall, 35-37 inch chest, 127 lbs weight.

He enlisted in Hull, on 15/02/1915. Served with the Hull Pals, in Egypt and France. Survived the Battles of the Somme and Oppy Wood. Died of head wounds, on 15/05/1918, aged 22. He had been in the army for 3 years and 46 days. His army effects were left to his father, William.

He is buried at Abbeville Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
