Whiteley, Joseph

Stalybridge, Lancashire, 1880. He joined the army in 1899. Previously serving in the Royal Field Artillery aged 21 and based at Farnborough, Hampshire, (1901 Census). He married a Hull girl, living in Hull, with daughter, Mary. Employed by the National Radiator Company in Hull and living at  5, Roxburgh St Perth Street, Hull (1911 Census).

He re-enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery. At some point he was disabled and transferred, as Private, 474581, to the Labour Corps. Discharged from the army on 04/09/1918. Died of paralysis and insanity on 19/01/1921, as a result of war service. His army pension went to his widow, Jennie at 155, Perth Street, Hull (Pension Ledger Address).
