Williamson, Edward

Born Retford, Nottinghamshire, 1900. Second Son of Joseph and Elizabeth Williamson of 34, Somerscales Street, Beverley Road, Hull (War Pension address). Son of a Motor Cycle Engineer. He had one brother and four sisters. He was a motor Cycle mechanic. He was 5 foot, 4.5 inch tall, 110 lbs weight, 33-35 inch chest, “fair” physical development

He enlisted in Hull, on 2nd March 1916. Called up for service, on 29th Sept 1917. Posted to France, on 2nd April 1918. Served with the 15th Durham Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 25/04/1918, aged 18. He  had served in the army for 226 days.

He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
