Pte, Frederick William Wilson, 6th Lincolns.

BORN HULL 26/09/1890. ONLY SON OF JOSEPH & WHINNIE WILSON, OF 3, WILFRED’S AVENUE, WYKE STREET, HULL  & 154 , ENGLISH STREET, HULL. HE HAD SEVEN SISTERS. HIS FATHER WHO WAS ONCE WELL KNOWN IN CONSERVATIVE CIRCLES AND HAD BEEN DEAD A NUMBER OF YRARS. A RIVERTER. HE JOINED THE ROYAL NAVY, ON 24/02/1908 AND SERVED AS A STOKER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 37.5 INCH CHEST, BROWN EYES, LIGHT BROWN HAIR, SCAR ON RIGHT HAND SIDE OF HIS JAW. AFTER HIS NAVAL SERVICE EXPIRED, HE ENLISTED AT GRIMSBY AND JOINED THE 6TH LINCOLNSHIRE REGIMENT. POSTED TO FRANCE, HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 22/08/1917, AGED 27. MARRIED. HE LEFT HIS ARMY EFFECTS TO HIS WIDOW, SRAH ANN.

HE WAS PHOTOGRAPHED WITH HIS BROTHERS, IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 08/03/1915.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED BY THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 18/07/1916 AND 17/09/1917. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE TYNE COT MEMORIAL, BELGIUM.
