BORN HULL 1900. SON OF JAMES & MARGARET ELIZABETH WILSON At 22 THE MARKET PLACE, HULL (1911 CENSUS ADDRESS). A SWEET SHOP ASSISTANT. BEFORE THE WAR JAMES WILSON WAS A LANCE CORPORAL AND BUGLER IN THE 1ST VOLUNTEER EYR. A ACTIVE AND RESPECTED MEMBER OF THE QUEEN’S HALL SUNDAY SCHOOL AND CHOIR. HE WAS REPORTED MISSING AND PRISONER, BUT LATER CONFIRMED AS KILLED IN ACTION ON THE 27TH MAY 1918. HE WAS AGED 18 AND SINGLE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 5TH FEBRUARY 1919, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
