BORN HULL 1888. SON OF GEORGE WILSON (1850-1927) AND AGNES STEEL (1853-1927), OF 27 CHAPEL STREET, HOYLAND COMMON, BARNSLEY (PENSION LEDGER ADDRESS). A BARNSLEY COAL MINER (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED NORTH SHIELDS. SERVED AS A PRIVATE, 21127, WITH THE 8TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 1ST JULY 1916, AGED 28. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, GEORGE, AND NIECE, CLARA E. SMITH.
