BORN HULL. HUSBAND OF BEATRICE AT 5 MYRTLE VILLAS, HULL ROAD, HULL. (HDM 31/08/1917 ADDRESS). ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED. COMMEMORATED ON THE PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL.

Traveller, built by Smith Brothers, Grimsby in 1880 and owned at the time of her loss by M. Dahl, Vaag, Suderø, was a Danish fishing smack of 76 tons. On May 24th, 1917, Traveller was sunk by the German submarine UC-33 (Martin Schelle), off the Faroe bank. There were no casualties.
