Winley, George Alexander

Born North Shields, Northumberland, 1891. Son of George and Jane Winley, of 28, Thomas Street, Hull (CWGC & War Pension address).

A former painter, he joined the army and was a Professional Soldier, when war began. Served with the 2nd Coldstream Guards, in the British Expeditionary Force. Died of wounds, on 30/10/1914, aged 23, on the No:1 Ambulance train. Buried at Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.

His army effects were left to his father, George.

His name is recorded in the De Ruvigny Roll of Honour, Volume 2.
