Born Goole, Yorkshire, 1898. Son of George Woffinden (1864-1948) and Mary Ann Elizabeth Charlton (1864-1934) of, St Mark Place Bucther Row Beverley (1911 Census), Clark’s Yard, Wilbert Lane, Beverley, 13 Waltham Terrace, Mill Lane, Beverley (army address) and 4. Nelson Square, New George Street, Hull (War Pension Address). Son of a Gardener. He had two elder sisters, Constance and Ada and a brother
Enlisted Beverley, on 6th August 1914. Served in the 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Posted to France, on 21st December 1915. Killed in action, on 25/09/1916, aged 17.
Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, France.
