SS Huntsmoor, built by Flensburger Schiffbau Ges., Flensburg in 1901 and operated at the time of her loss by The Shipping Controller (Jenkins Bros.), London, was a British steamer of 4957 tons. On February 20th, 1918, Huntsmoor, on a voyage from Havre to Southampton, was sunk by the German submarine UB-40 (Karl Dobberstein), 23 miles S1/2W from the Owers lightvessel. 20 persons were lost, including the Master.
