BORN HULL 1892. ELDEST SON OF GEORGE THOMAS & GERTRUDE WOODBRIDGE AT 53 RODNEY STREET (1911 CENSUS) AND MARY ELLEN’S TERRACE. HE WAS THE ELDEST OF EIGHT CHILDREN. SON OF A CABINET AND CHAIR MAKER. HE WORKED ON HULL’S CENTRAL DRY DOCK AND WAS MEMBER OF THE R.A.O.B.

HIS WIFE ANNIE ELIZABETH (ROWE) AND THEIR TWO CHILDREN, LIVED AT THIS ADDRESS AND 6 EXMOUTH BUILDINGS, QUEENS STREET, HULL. HE ENLISTED AT HULL. LEFT FOR THE DARDANELLES WITH THE 6TH EAST YORKSHIRE PIONEERS. HE WAS KILLED AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 23. HIS COMMEMORATED ON THE HELLES MEMORIAL, TURKEY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, ANNIE.
HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON 18/09/1915, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *
