HE MARRIED AT HESSLE, ON 25/11/1899. HUSBAND OF SARAH JANE BONTOFT, OF 1 SOUTHPLACE, HESSLE (ARMY ADDRESS) AND BLACKSMITH COTTAGE, SOUTHGATE, HESSLE (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). THEY HAD FOUR SONS AND A DAUGHTER. WORKED FOR HENRY SCARR LTD. A DRILLING MACHINIST, FOR HAVEN SHIPYARD, HESSLE. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 4 INCHES TALL, 118 LBS WEIGHT, 35-37 INCH CHEST, BLUE EYES, GREY HAIR, CHURCH OF ENGLAND RELIGION, VERY GOOD CHARACTER.

HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, ROBERT WOOD (1889-1918), 33463, 10TH EYR, WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 13/04/1918, AGED 28.
