WORKED AS A JOINER’S APPRENTICE. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 13/287, 13TH EAST YORSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED AS PRIVATE, 60308, 3RD TYNSIDE IRISH. DIED O WOUNDS, ON 03/05/1918, AGED 22. UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, SARAH

HIS NAME IS LISTED ON THE COTTINGHAM WAR MEMORIAL. HIS NAME IS ALSO RECORDED ON THE COTTINGHAM METHODIST CHURCH WW1 PLAQUE.
