(1876-1961) & ELIZA SUCH (1879-1944), OF 7, QUAKER’S COURT, WINCOLMLEE, HULL (1901), AND 4, WELTON TERRACE, COURTNEY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & ARMY ADDRESS). HE HAD TWO BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS. A LABOURER. DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT, 8 INCHES TALL, 135 LBS WEIGHT, 34 INCH CHEST, BROWN EYES, BROWN HAIR, “FRESH” COMPLEXION, TATTOO MARKS ON BOTH ARMS.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 10/11/1914. SERVED WITH THE 8TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 07/08/1915. ADMITTED TO HOSPITAL WITH TRENCH FOOT, ON 29/11/1915. INVALIDED TO ENGLAND. REJOINED REGIMENT IN FRANCE, ON 25/02/1916. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 06/04/1916, AGED 18. COMMEMORATED ON THE YPRES MEMORIAL, BELGIUM. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS MOTHER, ELIZA.
