Born Brighton, Sussex, 1889. Son of Charles and Susannah Sturt, of Brighton. He resided in Hull.
Was a Professional Soldier. Joined the army aged 14 and served with the 12th Royal Lancers (1911 Census). Discharged after 13 years service, on 25th August 1915.
Re- Enlisted in Oxford. Served with the 16th Royal Irish Rifles. Died of wounds, on 02/04/1918, aged 29. Buried in France.
His army effects were shared with his three sisters and brother.
